Musical biography
Emanuele Borgonovo studied Piano, Organ and Composition under the guidance of Maestro Luigi Molfino. He has published several organ pieces with Edizioni Carrara in "Organo nella Liturgia," "L'Organo per Natale", "Armonie Nuziali" and choral pieces in "Armonia di Voci", Edizioni Elledici. His compositions have been premiered in several concerts in Italy and abroad.
He is the founder and teacher of the course "Mathematics & Music: Quantitative Emotions" at Bocconi University, the first of this kind at this important institution, with a program aimed at illustrating the mathematical aspects of Music and the musical aspects of Mathematics.
He played as a pianist with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Symphony Orchestra under the direction of M° Dante Anzolini, with recitals at Kresge Auditorium. Beyond composing, he carries out research on applications of mathematics in music, with particular attention to the definition of sequences of periodic modulations, and the links between mathematical symmetries and musical composition.
